Overview

Susquehanna is seeking talented graduates to join their growing Dublin office in August 2027.

As a trading system engineer, you'll work in a computationally intensive role that will allow you to use your strong technical skills to solve problems at the intersection of trading and technology.

You will have the chance to work on challenging engineering problems across our trading teams in areas such as trading systems engineering, low-latency C++ strategy development, and high-performance C++ libraries that enable large-scale quantitative research and data processing. You’ll work on the desk side by side with senior developers who understand the nuances of building performant, reliable systems for complex trading strategies.

You will begin with a comprehensive education program designed to build a broad understanding of the role trading system engineers play across our trading teams. Once you complete the program, you’ll be placed on a trading team that aligns with your interests and background. This will give you the best preparation possible for a career in trading system engineering.

What we’re looking for

Class of 2027: You are a master’s or bachelor’s student in their final year of study, majoring in a quantitative and/or STEM discipline such as computer science, computer engineering, mathematics or data science for example.

Clear Communicator: You enjoy building relationships with those you work closely with and are comfortable sharing ideas, expressing your thoughts, and listening to the views of others.

Ambitious: You’re someone that enjoys setting personal goals and giving your all to achieve them. Be it in Arts, Sports, Academics, or another passion; you’re not afraid to put in the effort to reach your full potential.

Technically Proficient: Strong software development skills in C++, C, or Rust, along with some Python experience. You will have exceptional quantitative, logical reasoning, and analytical skills.

Problem Solver: When it comes to solving problems, you use clear and sound reasoning. You’re rational and like to use numbers and data to come up with sensible solutions.

What's in it for you:

Education: We are renowned for our market-leading education and training programmes. You will start off in a multiweek education program designed to give you a broad understanding of the spaces where quantitative strategy developers add value. Once you complete education, you’ll be placed on a trading team that aligns with your interests and background. This will give you the best preparation possible for a career in quantitative strategy development.

Collaboration: You will get to work with a wide range of people in the classroom and through your project work; people who share a passion for mathematics, problem-solving, game theory, and technology.

Culture: We are not your typical trading firm - our non-hierarchical, casual, and collaborative culture allows employees of every level to thrive, and we focus on continuous development, no matter how long you’ve been in Susquehanna.

Perks: We offer a highly competitive compensation package to our graduates. Located in Ireland's Financial Services Centre, in the heart of Dublin's city centre, our office features free onsite catering, a games room, and a fully equipped in-house gym.
