Role Purpose

This dual-role position combines the analytical expertise of a Financial Performance Analyst with the strategic oversight of a Finance Project Manager. The role is responsible for delivering robust financial insights, supporting strategic decision-making, and managing key finance-related projects across the organisation.

You will monitor financial performance, lead cost-efficiency initiatives, and manage cross-functional finance projects—from system upgrades to process improvements. The successful candidate will work closely with finance, operations, IT, and executive leadership to deliver data-driven outcomes and measurable results.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Performance Analysis

Analyse and interpret financial and operational data to provide insight on trends, risks, and opportunities.
Prepare and present regular financial performance dashboards and reports for senior leadership.
Conduct variance and scenario analysis to inform budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
Support business units in understanding cost structures and performance drivers.
Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, or revenue enhancement.

Finance Project Management

Lead or support the delivery of finance-led projects (e.g., system implementations, process automation, reporting upgrades).
Develop and manage project plans, timelines, risks, and stakeholder engagement.
Coordinate cross-functional project teams and external consultants/vendors as required.
Ensure delivery of projects on time, within budget, and in line with strategic objectives.
Track and report project milestones, resource allocation, and financial impact.

Process and Systems Improvement

Review and enhance financial processes and reporting tools for efficiency and accuracy.
Collaborate with IT and finance teams to support system upgrades or digital transformation initiatives.
Champion data integrity, reporting standardisation, and automation across finance functions.

Finance Team Management

Manage two direct reports and be accountable for the delivery of the Finance Team which includes Accounts Payable, Receivable & Payroll.
Manage the external audit process, team delivery and implementation of outcomes and recommendations.

Key Relationships

Internal: Finance team, Executive Leadership, Business Unit Heads, IT, HR, Procurement, Finance Committee.
External: System Vendors, Consultants, Auditors (where relevant).

Person Specification

Qualifications

Strong background in financial analysis and project management.
Project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile) desirable but not essential.

Experience

5+ years’ experience in a finance, FP&A, or financial operations role.
Proven track record in managing or supporting complex finance or systems projects.
Experience in data analysis, performance tracking, and financial reporting.
Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. SUN, SAP, Sage) and business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) is an advantage.
