We are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our fast-growing, innovative team. The successful candidate will support our Commercial team.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing costs on a variety of curtain wall & glazing projects.

• Early involvement in projects, liaising and providing advice to the tendering team.

• Checking contract terms and conditions and negotiating acceptable terms with clients.

• Preparing early-stage budgets, cost plans and cashflow

• Performing risk, value management and cost control

• Allocating work packages to sub-contractors.

• Sub-contract procurement including preparation of contract documents.

• Administer sub-contract packages including agreement of final accounts.

• Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks.

• Negotiating to ensure budgets are not exceeded.

• Providing advice on and producing contractual claims.

• Valuing completed work by producing interim valuations and preparing the final account.

• Developing a working knowledge of the Construction Contracts Act 2013 (CCA 2013)

• Developing knowledge relevant to contract conditions.

• Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use.

• Attending meetings as required e.g., with clients, design team, subcontractors.

• Liaise closely with the site management team in respect of day-to-day matters.

• Ensure Progress Claim Notices (interim valuations) are submitted on time.

• Following up with the project surveyor to ensure valuation responses are issued on time.

• Ensuring the project surveyors are adhering to the timelines as per the CCA 2013

• Engaging with Project Surveyors to ensure payments are being processed.

Key Skills & Knowledge

• An appropriate level of qualification e.g., a degree in quantity surveying or similar.

• 3-5yrs in a similar role

• Software experience MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Buildsoft, CostX, Bluebeam.

• Experience in managing others.

• High attention to detail.

• Excellent communicator

• Enthusiasm and drive

• Knowledge & Experience of curtain walling / commercial window industry
