Job Description:

As such, Direct Medics are working in partnership with a client in Dublin to find an experienced and dedicated Locum Senior Psychologist who will be providing a comprehensive specialist Intellectual Disability Services.

Key Skills:

Positive Behaviour Support (assessment -functional assessment, analysis of ABC’s etc., development of behavioural interventions and report writing; implementation of recommendations with teams and families and review of recommendations).
Dementia Assessment (experience in a variety of direct and indirect dementia assessment tools for the above population group) and interventions approaches and management (BPSD)
Therapeutic interventions for above population group in relation to a variety of mental health difficulties, mood disorders, OCD, PTSD, complex trauma, ADHD etc
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with experience working with front line staff teams, families and MDT

This will be a temporary position required for a maximum of 9 days (7 hrs per day) per week for the following period: 5^th of January to the 27^th of March 2026. Hours would be 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Essential Requirements

Hold an Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification (Doctorate) accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland (or equivalent)
At least five years satisfactory post-graduate experience in the area of
professional psychology in ROI/EU & currently employed in a named publically funded psychological service
Full UK/ROI Drivers License and Access to a car on appointment
Right to live and work in the UK/Ireland
