The role of the VAT Intern is to support GBS VAT Senior Analysts in meeting all VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales List & SAFT obligations as set out under EU and domestic law and to ensure that VAT is accounted for correctly in our financial statements.

Responsibilities:

Assist Senior Analysts in the project creations automation process daily by monitor the projects created to project requirements submitted and liaising with the teams to ensure appropriately created.
Assist Senior Analysts in the Capitalization of Assets process by reviewing Capitalisation Forms received to ensure they are in line with company policies and capitalized for the company closing calendar.
Assist Senior Analysts in preparing the periodic VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales List & SAFT reports for review by local affiliates prior to final submission to various Zone 2/European tax authorities.
Assist Senior Analysts in preparing, reviewing and approving VAT account reconciliations in accordance with relevant guidelines.
Support regional General Accounting (GA) projects as required.
Support the overall GA team by demonstrating flexibility in providing cover for team members, assisting with operational controls and monthly tasks.

Requirements:

Currently enrolled in 3rd level education and ready to pursue student placement as part of an undergraduate.
Ability to effectively prioritize and complete key tasks.
Ability to work in team environment & communicate effectively.
