The Role:

The Global Logistics Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of intercompany Clinical and Commercial drug substance, drug product, and finished goods movements, from order placement through to final delivery. This role supports the global planning and distribution of BioMarin Pharmaceutical products to and from third-party manufacturing, packaging, and distribution facilities. The position ensures compliant execution of global logistics activities in line with Good Distribution Practice (GDP), cold chain requirements, and international trade regulations, while acting as a key liaison across internal and external stakeholders and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Accountable for day-to-day operational logistics planning activities.
Own and execute end-to-end logistics activities, including planning, execution, and order-to-cash processes.
Coordinate closely with Global Supply Chain Planners and External Operations teams to support temperature-controlled shipments between contract manufacturing sites, packaging facilities, distribution centres, and customers.
Establish and maintain standardised material movement practices, protocols, and transport planning schedules with proactive delivery tracking.
Develop and strengthen internal and external relationships through effective communication and collaboration.
Liaise with Global Trade Compliance teams to ensure accurate export and import documentation and reporting to government customs authorities.
Execute logistics transactions within the appropriate ERP systems to support timely inventory and financial recognition.
Ensure full compliance with GDP, cold chain, quality, and regulatory requirements for all shipments.
Complete and manage QMS records, including deviations and change controls, related to logistics activities at external partners.
Support the creation, implementation, and maintenance of fit-for-purpose work instructions, risk assessments, and standard operating procedures.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support broader business and logistics-related projects as required.
Apply sound judgment and initiative when resolving complex logistics issues and making recommendations to mitigate operational and compliance risk.
Perform additional duties as required to support ongoing business needs.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or an alternative undergraduate degree with relevant continuing education in logistics or extended supply chain management.
Minimum of five years’ experience in supply chain management, logistics, or warehousing within a regulated environment.
Strong working knowledge of global logistics operations, transportation management, and supply chain principles.
Proven experience executing and managing cold chain logistics and temperature-controlled shipments.
Demonstrated experience working with ERP systems, with SAP experience required.
Strong cross-functional leadership capability, with the ability to achieve results through influence without direct reporting authority.
Experience leading or supporting change initiatives and continuous improvement activities within highly regulated industries.
High level of accountability, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Lean Six Sigma certification preferred, with Yellow Belt certification highly desirable.
