Position Title: Social care Worker

Location: Tallaght and its environs

Work Schedule: 28 hours Mon – Thurs 9am-5pm

Contract: Permanent

Salary: €38,848 - €48,240 PRO RATA

Reporting to: The post holder will be responsible to Crosscare Counselling Service Manager or nominated Deputy.

The Role: To work along a team of counsellors supporting young people and parents. To roll out programmes as necessary and to actively engage with the young people/ parents on the waiting list.

General Responsibilities:

This role requires you to engage proactively with young people and/or parents on our waiting list through various channels including phone, online and in person.
Attend regular meetings and be able to give updates on client status.
A key aspect of the role involves forging strategic collaborations with local agencies and funders.
To work alongside our team of counsellors to collectively strive for and achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients.
To develop/ co-develop and deliver short impactful programmes for young people and parents. These programmes will address current issues such as anxiety, dysregulation and school avoidance with the aim of expediting movement off the waiting list.
Be creative in designing new programmes for current issues.
To submit data, keep programme records and provide updates and reports as requested.
To prepare and submit outcome reports as requested.
To take part in ongoing approved training to enhance outcomes for the client group.
To work and promote the ethos and mission of Crosscare and uphold its values in all areas of work.

To observe the policies and procedures of the project and Crosscare.

Flexibility in practice as required i.e. out of hours, provision of new programmes and service initiatives.
While general computer skills are necessary candidates with additional IT proficiency may find it beneficial in this role.

Essential Requirements:

The candidate must, at the latest date for receipt of completed application:

Be in possession of a recognised 3rd Level qualification in Addiction / Social Care / Youth Work or a related field.
A full clean driving licence and access to own vehicle are essential as daily travel to various locations will be required.

Job skills/Experience:

Must be able to work as part of a team.
Must have strong track record in community-based programmes and in supporting strategic partnerships with other agencies.
Must have experience of interagency work.
Must have a high level of knowledge and experience of working with young people and parental support work.

Personal Skills/Attributes:

The ability to foster connections is key, using strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with young people and parents.
A commitment to social justice and to treating people with dignity and respect.
An understanding of the principles of teamwork and the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
Adaptable to changing priorities, possessing strong time management skills to meet deadlines and uphold a professional approach in all interactions.
A full Driving License, access to your own transport.
