Overview

Susquehanna is looking for highly motivated full-time students for our 10-week trading system engineering summer internship program based at our EU Headquarters in Dublin, Ireland.

This is a computationally intensive role that will allow you to use your strong technical skills to solve problems at the intersection of trading, data, and technology.

Throughout the summer, you will receive education about how markets work by going through a deep dive into financial markets and Susquehanna's approach to trading. You will also work on challenging projects for our trading strategy development teams in low latency C++ trading system development. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to work on projects side by side with senior developers who understand the nuances of building complex trading strategies.

What we’re looking for

Class of 2028: You are a master’s or bachelor’s student in their penultimate year of study, majoring in a quantitative and/or STEM discipline such as computer science, computer engineering, mathematics or data science for example. You intend to graduate and begin full-time employment by August 2028.

Clear Communicator: You enjoy building relationships with those you work closely with and are comfortable sharing ideas, expressing your thoughts, and listening to the views of others.

Ambitious: You’re someone that enjoys setting personal goals and giving your all to achieve them. Be it in Arts, Sports, Academics, or another passion; you’re not afraid to put in the effort to reach your full potential.

Technically Proficient: Strong software development skills in C++, C, or Rust. Some experience with Python. Experience and comfort working with data using libraries such as Pandas, Polars, or NumPy. You will have exceptional quantitative, logical reasoning, and analytical skills.

Problem Solver: When it comes to solving problems, you use clear and sound reasoning. You’re rational and like to use numbers and data to come up with sensible solutions.

What's in it for you:

Education: We are renowned for our market-leading education and training programmes. You will attend classes covering a vast range of topics (Options Pricing, Machine Learning, Data Analysis Techniques, Game Theory, Trader Talks, In-house trading games… the list goes on!) from some of the most experienced employees in Susquehanna.

Collaboration: You will get to work with a wide range of people in the classroom and through your project work; people who share a passion for mathematics, problem-solving, game theory, and technology.

Culture: Our non-hierarchical, casual, and collaborative culture allows employees of every level to thrive, and we focus on continuous development, no matter how long you’ve been in Susquehanna.

Perks: We offer a highly competitive compensation package to our interns. Located in Ireland's Financial Services Centre, in the heart of Dublin's city centre, our office features free onsite catering, a games room, and a fully equipped in-house gym. Throughout the summer, interns enjoy weekly social events. For those joining us from outside Dublin, we also provide accommodation for the duration of the internship.
