This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and skilled Junior Data Scientist to join the AI Innovation Lab in Wexford, Ireland, and support the future of AI adoption within Equifax UK&I. The AI Junior Data Scientist role contributes to the lab's AI adoption efforts by assisting in the practical application of AI technologies. Supports the activities of the AI Innovation Lab, assisting with the design, management and delivery of analytical insights and solutions through data analysis, data management and data science. Primary activities include delivering technical, business strategic expertise and ensuring proper governance of data sources, models, attributes and analytic platforms. Accountable for the data and insight strategy and its execution for the company. Providing thought leadership both internally and externally regarding the use and application of data and analytics for competitive advantage. Good communication and teamwork skills are also essential for collaborating effectively with the team. Assist with data collection and preparation. Support the development of AI models. Contribute to project documentation. Learn and develop new AI skills and techniques.

What you’ll do:

Performs routine assignments in the entry level to a professional job progression; typically requires a college or university degree or the equivalent work experience that provides knowledge and exposure to fundamental theories, principles and concepts
Analyzes discrete sets of information in routine situations
Uses existing procedures to make routine decisions
Organizes own work, following established processes or work plans and taking direction from others
Supports discussion on impact and importance of findings on the business (either Equifax or external customer)
Ensure proper use of Equifax data assets by working closely with data governance and compliance professionals
Collaborate with senior analysts on data analysis and project development
Support the development and testing of AI models
Help prepare reports and presentations on AI project findings
Learn and apply new AI techniques and tools
Contribute to the documentation of AI processes and procedures
Participate in team meetings, contributing to discussions and assisting with data gathering and analysis for project updates

What experience you need :

BS degree in a STEM major or equivalent discipline
Less than 2 years experience with programming and data analysis
Cloud certification strongly preferred
Additional role-based certifications may be required depending upon region/BU requirements
Familiarity with programming languages, such as Python (preferred)

What could set you apart:

Coursework or projects related to AI or machine learning
Experience with data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, and data visualization tools
Enthusiasm for learning and developing AI skills
Experience with cloud-based platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a team
Strong attention to detail
Good communication skills
