Role Purpose:

This individual will support the Director of Internal Audit for Flutter Functions in managing a team of auditors in the delivery of audits across Flutter Functions. Flutter Functions Internal audit currently covers the functional areas of Flutters CFO, COO and CLO. Responsible for driving improvements to corporate governance, risk management and internal control. Responsible for driving improvements to corporate governance, risk management and internal control. Takes responsibility for Flutter Functions Senior Management and Exco relationships

What you’ll do

Setting and promoting high standards of audit work and ensuring high-standard quality audit reports are delivered consistently
Responsible for audit plan delivery in Flutter Functions
Accountable for audit methodology used within Flutter Functions and, therefore QA results
Leading audits where data analytics is a key element of the review
Monitoring management's responses and implementation of agreed management actions
Ensuring effective business changes are introduced because of audit findings
Responsible for the content and quality of month-end packs sent to management
Working as a partner to the business in identifying significant process and structure improvements to assist the business in meeting its corporate objectives
Suggesting beneficial changes to audit methodologies and procedures

How you’ll do it

Advanced analytical and technical auditing skills
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). Ability to communicate with all levels of management and write meaningful reports and presentations
Advanced project/time management skills. i.e. Ability to oversee and handle multiple audit projects, early identification of cross-project dependencies and impacts, and act to de-risk project delivery impact.
Highly motivated, proactive and able to work on own initiative
Advanced ability to identify audit issues and associated risks, and provide practical solutions
Strong understanding of the complex regulatory environment in the gambling sector
Ability to influence change at all levels of management, particularly at a senior level
The ability to establish and develop & establish strong working relationships
Finds opportunities for the use of Data Analytics
Can communicate business context of data and analytics to both data and non-data savvy collaborators

Qualifications & Experience

Relevant Financial, Risk and / or Audit qualifications required. (Educated to degree level or equivalent).
History of successfully leading Internal Audit teams, including people development.
Active membership of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and or related Internal Audit qualifications would be an advantage.
Experience in the gambling sector or a similar highly regulated environment would be an advantage.
Experience in planning, managing and delivering audits from Big 4 or similar would be an advantage.
Advanced ability to identify thematic audit issues and associated risks, root causes and provide practical solutions. Working with the audit team to report impactful issues and drive meaningful change.
Advanced project/time management skills. i.e. Ability to oversee and handle multiple audit projects, early identification of cross-project dependencies and impacts, and act to de-risk project delivery impact.

Measure of Success

Develop a robust understanding of the UKI regional business, its risk and auditable landscape and able to identify priority areas for assessment.
Leading and develop a team of inquisitive auditors to deliver audit plans on time and to a high quality.
Providing insightful and impactful reporting, both on individual audit level and to Executive stakeholders through regular updates and reports.
Being able to demonstrate level of audit coverage across key risk areas for management.
