We are recruiting an Associate for our Competition & Antitrust team. This team is internationally recognised and widely regarded as market-leading in its field in Ireland. We are centrally involved in the most complex merger cases before the CCPC and have established new precedent in Irish merger control law and on media mergers in particular. The successful candidate will work with a renowned team of legal experts with access to an enviable client base, as part of one of the largest commercial teams in Ireland, meaning we can offer a depth of resources and breadth of expertise that helps secure the best outcomes for our clients.

The Role

This role involves working on all aspects of competition/antitrust – including merger control, digital regulation, competition investigations, compliance, State aid as well as competition disputes and litigation – and foreign investment screening. This role will suit somebody with a passion for developing a thorough understanding of complex regulatory frameworks and economic concepts across all industries, including the technology sector. There is also an opportunity to develop or deepen experience in public procurement, both contentious and non-contentious.

Requirements

2+ PQE in competition law.
Large corporate law firm experience.
Proven ability to work independently and in teams and to collaborate with colleagues at all levels across the firm.
Excellent communication and drafting skills.
Ability to prioritise and manage work effectively.
Excellent attention to detail.
Commercial awareness and strategic thinking.
Track record of high performance academically and in practice.
Experience in the areas of public procurement and / or foreign direct investment is highly desirable but not essential.
