Purpose of the Team and Role

The R&D Operations Centre of Excellence (COE) supports Lilly Research Laboratories (LRL) by enabling collaborations with external partners through effective contract execution. These partnerships help Lilly advance potential new medicines, technologies, and innovations quickly and with quality.

The team manages a variety of research-related contracts, including confidentiality agreements, medical research agreements, and material transfer agreements. In addition, the COE supports several key operational areas, such as Preclinical Grants, Scientific Publications, governance of enterprise-critical Business Continuity Plans, and the Lilly Research Award Program.

R&D Operations also plays a role in supporting clinical trial functions (e.g., Data Management, Clinical Development, Patient Engagement) by overseeing third-party capabilities. This includes evaluating vendors, ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), supporting clinical trial registration and reporting, and representing third-party management in regulatory inspections.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of the R&D Operations COE, your main focus will be to support contracting processes and deliver an excellent experience for internal stakeholders by ensuring contracts are executed accurately and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

• Monitor daily operational dashboards and work closely with subject matter experts to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Respond to queries from internal and external stakeholders, resolving issues using process knowledge.

• Support clinical teams with compliance to third-party management procedures.

• Assist with oversight checks and governance activities related to clinical trial vendors.

• Contribute to the execution of business controls to ensure regulatory standards are met with regards third party oversight.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in third-level education (e.g., Law, Business, Finance) and eligible for student placement.

• Strong communication skills and a compliance-oriented mindset.

• Excellent self-management and organizational abilities.

• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
