JJ Rhatigan & Company is one of Ireland’s leading Building Contractors, with operations throughout Ireland and the UK. We are currently recruiting for a Document Controller to be based in the Galway region. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a prestigious main contractor and work with like-minded people on award winning multi-million-euro projects.

General Duties:

Ensuring access and training is provided to all required users.
Delivering weekly refresher training (following initial BIM Manager training) for the first 6 weeks of each project.
Ensuring information is easily accessible, current and coordinated.
Supporting the site team with:
- Batch downloading, printing, mark-up, and search functions.
- Receiving and accessing drawing upload notifications.
Ensuring drawings:
- Are named in accordance with the project naming convention.
- Are issued at the correct scale, orientation, and format (DWG and PDF).
- Include up-to-date registers with every revision, covering:
  - Drawing Title
  - Drawing Number
  - Drawing Revisions / Clouded Changes
  - Drawing Scale & Orientation
  - Dimensions and text
  - Updated Drawing Register

BCAR

Prepare, organize, and submit all BCAR-related documentation to the Building Control Authority.
Ensure submissions are completed within required timelines.
Work closely with the Assigned Certifier, subcontractors, and design team to ensure documentation accuracy and compliance.
Maintain a centralized BCAR repository for easy inspection access.
Monitor and track BCAR submissions using the PIP as a tracker.

O&M

Compile, review, and finalize O&M manuals for client handover, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Use O&M Manuals – Hometo standardise format and structure across projects.
Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to gather documentation for O&M Manuals.
Ensure manuals are submitted to clients within agreed timeframes post-completion.
Make manuals available for download.

Design Review Meetings

Assist with the fortnightly preparation, organisation, and upload of DRM documentation, including:
- Design Change Tracker (Change Control)
- Design RFI Tracker
- Planning Condition Tracker
- Building Warranty Tracker
- Building Control Tracker
- Design Fee Schedule
- Design Team Meeting Minutes
- Design Review Report

Goods Recieved Notice (GRN)

Assist with the recording of GRN’s on SAP / COINS system.
- Work Closely with the Site Team, Project QS and Accounts department to ensure timely recording of GRN’s on the JJR ERP System.

Professional Approach

Work independently while recognizing when BIM / Design Manager input is required.
Demonstrate determination, drive, and dedication in all project duties.
Maintain weekly communication with Consultants, Clients, and Stakeholders.
Exhibit initiative, control, and strong communication skills.
Resolve issues quickly through a clear Action–Responsibility–Close Out approach.

Minimum Qualifications

BTEC in Building Studies, Building Engineering, or Building Management; OR HNC / HND / Degree in Construction Management or Architecture (with industrial placement).
Minimum 1 year’s experience managing elements of construction projects.
