Your profile

Have a qualification in Speech and Language Therapy, or Occupational Therapy that allows you to practice in Ireland
Are CORU registered
Have current registration with the relevant professional body
Have completed training in the use of the ADI-R and ADOS-2
Have at least a year of experience of delivering neurodiversity assessments
Have excellent report writing skills
Would like to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Would like to work in a neuroaffirmative and neuroinclusive way
Are comfortable and confident working remotely online

Role Brief:

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and CORU-registered Speech and Language Therapist or Occupational Therapists to join our multidisciplinary team. This role focuses on remote assessments for both children (aged 7+) and adults, within Autism and ADHD diagnostic pathways.
The successful candidate will have specialist training in ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule) and ADI-R (Autism Diagnostic Interview – Revised), with demonstrable experience in adapting and delivering assessments effectively through virtual platforms.

Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality ND assessments as part of Autism and ADHD diagnostic pathways for children (7+) and adults.
Administer and interpret ADOS and ADI-R assessments in an online/virtual setting.
Provide clear, sensitive, and person-centred feedback to individuals and families.
Adapt assessment tools and communication styles for different age groups, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity in a remote environment.
Collaborate closely with psychologists, occupational therapists, in a multidisciplinary virtual team.
You will collaborate closely with colleagues to ensure each individual experiences a thorough multidisciplinary assessment and formulation of their strengths and challenges that informs helpful recommendations and a plan for next steps.
You will provide written reports detailing assessments you complete, presenting complex information in a clear and accessible way.
You will work in a way that ensures the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and their families, following relevant safeguarding and risk procedures.
You will support the clinical lead with the day to day running of the service, including monitoring of feedback and outcomes in order ensure we are delivering clinically robust and neuroaffirmative neurodiversity assessments that clients are happy with.

Requirements:

CORU registered and registered with the appropriate registration body for related profession
Minimum of a year post-registration experience

Minimum of two years experience of working with neurodiverse people

Minimum of a year of experience assessing neurodiversity

Confidence working in an online/digital format - Demonstrable experience delivering remote assessments to children (7+) and/or adults

Experience of developing care plans and setting goals with families and young people

Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary assessment team

Experience of writing meaningful neurodiversity assessment reports, including recommendations and reasonable accommodations

Experience of feeding back on assessment outcomes to individuals and families

Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary assessment team

Experience of working in a multicultural setting, including working with interpreters.

Experience of supporting individuals and families following a diagnosis

Experience of liaising with colleagues in other agencies (e.g. education, social care, health services)

Formal training and competence in ADOS and ADI-R administration.
Knowledge and understanding of NICE guidance relating to autism assessment and DSM-V/ICD-11 diagnostic criteria for autism

Knowledge of other related neurotypes, including ADHD and intellectual disability.

Knowledge of issues around confidentiality, safeguarding and risk, particularly in relation to children and young people.

Good record keeping skills (e.g. recording case notes)

Effective written communication skills (e.g. conveying complex information in written reports)

Ability to communicate complex and sensitive information in a way that is meaningful to individuals, families and other stakeholders.

Knowledge of what clinical governance is and skills in quality improvement of services.
