Job Description

A full-time permanent legal executive role, joining the existing legal team. This is a broad role within the legal team and as Elgin Energy grows it is likely that the role will evolve and change with the business.
Initially, the role will involve assisting with all aspects of Elgin Energy’s operations with a particular focus on real estate, energy, funding, corporate sales and M&A including:

You will:

Assist the real estate team through title due diligence including review of title and searches, negotiation of heads of terms and deeds of variation, preparation of first drafts of a variety of land agreements, instructing external counsel;
Support the legal team in funding, corporate sales and M&A transactions across all jurisdictions;
Assist in the preparation and management of virtual data rooms required for large scale funding and corporate sales transactions;
Assist with due diligence processes;
Support the projects and corporate teams through reviewing contracts such as NDAs, Construction Contracts, Asset Lifecycle contracts, SPAs, and disclosure letters to identify key terms and timelines as per funding and corporate requirements;
Support the legal function as a whole through the management of all invoices and billing with external counsel, maintaining a precedent bank, carrying out various organisational functions within the team amongst other admin requirements within the team; and
Support the legal function as a whole through ongoing monitoring and implementation of legal IT systems and software.

Your profile

egal Executive experience ideally with 3-7 years;
Ideally including energy, real estate and corporate;
Working knowledge of virtual data rooms e.g. iDeals, DataSite, DropBox etc.;
Excellent communication and organisational skills;
A high level of motivation and a friendly manner to enable effective and positive engagement with colleagues, external legal counsel, and key stakeholders;
The ability to work proactively and within a team;
A flexible approach to work is to be undertaken and open to getting involved with a variety of workstreams within the legal function.
