The Purpose of This Role:

To assist in the production of sterilised medical devices within the hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning, disinfection, packing and autoclaving of instruments using mechanical and manual methods thus ensuring that a high-quality service is maintained. He/she will work closely with other members of the CSSD, Theatre, Endoscopy staff to offer a high standard of service in a clean and friendly environment to members of the public, staff and patients being treated at Bon Secours Hospital. Candidate Criteria:

Qualifications

Hold a Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification.
A QQI/FETAC Level 5 qualification in Health Service Skills or Healthcare Support is desirable.‌

Experience

Proven experience in Decontamination or Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD). (Essential)
Proficient in the use of information technology and relevant systems. (Essential)
Strong ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. (Essential)
Excellent organisational and time management skills. (Essential)
Committed to following all health and safety protocols in line with hospital policies. (Essential)
Knowledge and experience of working in an accredited Private Hospital or similar healthcare role. (Desirable)

Possess the interpersonal skills to facilitate working effectively in teams, while having the ability to give constructive feedback to encourage learning. ‌

Appointment: A full time, permanent contract.

Annual Salary: €40,710 - €47,588 per annum.

Annual Leave Entitlement: 23 Days.

Probationary Period: The appointee shall hold office for a probationary period of six months.

Hours: 39 hours per week
