Your work will directly impact millions of customers worldwide.

Each day, you will interact with different teams responsible for all aspects of the data centers. You will help prioritize activities that support data center capacity, availability, and safety, focusing on the actions that are most impactful — and you will have the opportunity to work on projects both locally and globally. If this sounds exciting to you, come build the future with us!

This internship is designed as a potential pathway to full-time employment. Interns who demonstrate strong performance throughout their internship may be considered for a full-time engineering position, subject to available roles and business needs.

Who Should Apply

We welcome applications from:
- Students in the last year of their Bachelor's or Master's degree (graduating 2027) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related technical discipline, who are looking for an internship that could lead to a full-time career.

About the Role

As an intern, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to provide full life-cycle support to AWS data centers, from design through operation. With guidance from experienced engineers, you will build your subject matter expertise and serve as an engineering resource for your region, applying what you learn to real technical challenges.

You will be exposed to both independent work and team-based collaboration. Prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful.

What You Will Do – Are these job responsibilities accurate for the internship?
- Perform design and equipment submittal reviews for new data centers in your region
- Troubleshoot issues, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for site and equipment failures
- Support operational issues with ad-hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews (including for critical equipment), and event support
- Collaborate with the internal data center design engineering team, server hardware team, and environmental health and safety team to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered
- Work on concurrent projects, sometimes across multiple geographical regions

Internship Structure

Amazon internships are full-time (40 hours per week) for 12 consecutive weeks, starting 2027. This position requires the intern to report to work on site daily. Intern schedules are typically day schedules, Monday to Friday.

Please note that full-time engineering roles may operate on a rotating shift pattern, which could include days, evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as well as on-call rotations. Candidates should be willing and able to commit to shift work upon transitioning to a full-time position.
Diverse Experiences

AWS values diverse experiences. Even if you do not meet all of the preferred qualifications and skills listed below, we encourage you to apply. If your career is just starting, has not followed a traditional path, or includes alternative experiences, do not let that stop you from applying.
