About the role

At Kerry Ingredients, Listowel we manufacture a broad range of products for international companies and process milk from a large milk pool extending from Clare to South Kerry. Listowel is the biggest Kerry site in Ireland and has been in operation since 1972. The site has several spray drying facilities as well as a large utility installation.

Position Summary

Reportting to the Maintenace Manager you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of the equipment used within our plant. You will use your mechanical craft qualification to effect this. You will contribute to increasing the reliability of process and utility equipment in support of manufacturing requirements for dependability, quality, safety and environmental.

The Maintenance Welder role is a day role with rostered weekend work. You will also be required to be available for callout as part of a roster. As part of the Maintenance Team, you will work with colleagues from all levels of operations and quality to identify and prioritise equipment issues. An ability to work effectively within your team will also be very important to this role.

Key responsibilities

Provide effective technical support to Production in all aspects of machine and equipment maintenance, installation and modification; perform detailed maintenance, PMs and troubleshooting.
Support maintenance planning and preventative maintenance through completion of planned and emergency work orders, calibrations, PMs etc. Document maintenance work, including upgrades, made to existing equipment, including preventative maintenance performed and parts used, to ensure appropriate documentation and records of repair history.
Support continuous improvement by active participation in repairs, upgrades, preventative maintenance and system failure investigations and investigation reports, execution/development of change control, as appropriate.
Adherence to Safety Health & Environmental policies and procedures and carry out all tasks in a safe and controlled manner.
Pro-active team working with peers, production, quality and support groups to improve equipment reliability and performance.
Respond to breakdowns, systematically fault find, and identify root cause and then implement solution to prevent recurrence

Qualifications and skills

Mechanical Craft Qualification with plant maintenance experience
Highly Experience of Stainless TIG welding, fabrication and installation.
Relevant H&S qualifications e.g. IOSH, Confined Spaces etc.
Strong experience in a food factory environment
