This role is an opportunity to join a fully distributed sales team focused on growing a leading WordPress hosting business. As a Business Development Representative, you will manage inbound leads, engage prospects, qualify opportunities, and create a strong first impression throughout the early sales journey. You will combine thoughtful relationship-building with AI-assisted tools to improve research, preparation, follow-ups, and sales execution. Working closely with senior sales professionals, you will help generate qualified meetings, support pipeline growth, and contribute to customer expansion and retention. The position offers a highly collaborative environment where human judgment, curiosity, and continuous learning remain central to effective sales engagement.

Accountabilities:

Manage inbound leads across email, chat, and other channels by responding to inquiries, understanding prospect needs, and qualifying sales opportunities.
Conduct initial discovery conversations and create interest in WordPress hosting solutions by clearly communicating their value and relevance.
Schedule qualified meetings for senior sales team members and ensure smooth, well-documented handoffs.
Educate prospects on product capabilities, features, and benefits throughout the early stages of the sales process.
Maintain accurate CRM records, track prospect interactions, document next steps, and ensure timely follow-ups.
Partner closely with the senior sales team to move qualified opportunities forward and support a seamless customer journey.
Engage existing customers to identify expansion opportunities, support retention efforts, and assist with account-related sales activities.
Use AI tools for prospect research, call preparation, follow-up drafting, deal summarization, and workflow efficiency while applying sound human judgment.
Analyze call transcripts, summaries, and AI-generated insights to identify customer needs, objections, and actionable next steps.
Contribute structured feedback on customer conversations, objection patterns, and sales signals to help improve sales playbooks, enablement, and product feedback loops.
Stay current on product developments, industry trends, sales best practices, and evolving approaches to AI-enabled sales execution.
Proactively identify and engage target accounts through outbound email, LinkedIn, and phone outreach, using AI to support research and personalized engagement at scale.
Own monthly qualified meeting and pipeline generation targets, consistently working toward or exceeding defined activity and conversion benchmarks.

Requirements:

2–5 years of experience in a Business Development Representative, Junior BDR, or similar sales role.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage prospects clearly and professionally.
Customer-focused mindset with a genuine interest in understanding customer needs and connecting them with relevant solutions.
Experience managing multiple conversations, tasks, and follow-ups independently in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar systems.
Professional experience using AI tools for research, writing, summarization, prospecting, or workflow optimization.
Strong judgment when working with automation, including the ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs and recognize when human review is required.
Curiosity and willingness to learn about WordPress, managed hosting, sales methodologies, and emerging sales technologies.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, processes, and business needs.
Demonstrated ability to generate leads, qualify opportunities, and schedule productive sales conversations.
Familiarity with WordPress and managed hosting services is preferred.
Comfortable working with a globally distributed team and occasionally adjusting working hours, including weekends or non-standard hours, to coordinate with colleagues worldwide.
