This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Marketing & Communications Director based in Ireland.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity to shape the marketing and communications strategy of a fast-growing dual-use technology business.
You will own positioning, brand, content, PR, advertising, events, and partner campaigns, connecting strategy with measurable commercial outcomes.
Working closely with the CEO and cross-functional teams, you will translate complex technical products into clear, compelling stories for customers and stakeholders.
You will have substantial autonomy, managing specialist contractors and agencies while helping establish the foundations of a future in-house marketing function.
The role combines strategic leadership with direct execution across multiple channels and international audiences.
You will help build visibility, strengthen market positioning, and generate qualified inbound interest through creative, data-informed marketing initiatives.
The position is remote across Europe, with flexible part-time-to-full-time engagement and occasional travel.

Accountabilities:

Develop and execute the overall marketing and communications strategy, including priorities, budgets, objectives, and measurable performance indicators.
Refine company positioning, messaging, and brand identity, ensuring consistency across marketing channels and external communications.
Lead content planning and production for social media, leadership profiles, website content, and other relevant channels.
Manage PR and media relations, including journalist relationships, press releases, interviews, announcements, and media opportunities.
Plan and coordinate participation in exhibitions and industry events, covering event strategy, stand design, suppliers, marketing materials, and promotion.
Develop joint marketing initiatives with strategic partners, including campaigns, announcements, events, and co-branded content.
Brief, coordinate, and manage external contractors and agencies producing photography, video, graphics, merchandise, and other marketing assets.
Coordinate website updates and ensure digital content remains current, consistent, and aligned with the overall brand strategy.
Collaborate with Business Development and Product teams to create product briefs, case studies, presentations, and other customer-facing materials.
Track campaign performance, media coverage, audience growth, and qualified inbound interest to evaluate impact and optimize marketing investment.
Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining clear priorities and execution standards.
Build the foundations for a scalable marketing function and potentially develop an in-house team as the organization grows.

Requirements:

5+ years of relevant experience in marketing and communications, including responsibility for both strategy and hands-on execution.
Demonstrated experience marketing complex technical products or solutions to sophisticated audiences.
Proven ability to translate marketing strategy into practical campaigns, programs, and measurable business outcomes.
Track record of developing creative campaigns that generated significant audience engagement, media coverage, or international visibility.
Hands-on experience across social media, content marketing, public relations, advertising, and industry events.
Strong leadership, project management, prioritization, and stakeholder-management skills.
Established relationships with journalists and media contacts across technology, business, or relevant industry publications.
Excellent writing, editing, storytelling, and verbal communication skills.
Fluent professional English, both written and spoken.
Highly self-directed, organized, and comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced startup environment.
Experience in defense, aerospace, or dual-use technology is advantageous.
Experience working within an early-stage or rapidly scaling technology company is a plus.
International product launch, industry exhibition, or strategic partner campaign experience is beneficial.
Professional proficiency in an additional European language is a plus.
Availability for occasional travel within Europe.
