EHS International is engaging a contractor on behalf of a leading Irish manufacturing organisation for an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Lead to oversee EHS strategy and operational excellence across two major production facilities in the South East.

The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in driving a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the organisation's ongoing growth.

The Role

As EHS Lead, you will provide expert leadership across all Environmental, Health & Safety activities, ensuring compliance with legislation while developing and implementing best-in-class EHS systems, processes and initiatives.

Working closely with senior leadership and operational teams, you will lead the EHS function across multiple sites, promote a proactive safety culture, and support business performance through effective risk management and governance.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor and develop the EHS team across multiple manufacturing sites.
Ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health & Safety legislation, permits and regulatory requirements.
Develop, implement and continuously improve EHS policies, procedures and management systems.
Management of ISO standards
Develop and manage risk management programmes, business continuity planning and compliance initiatives.
Lead environmental, health and safety communications, awareness campaigns and training programmes.
Support the accident/Incident investigation process to ensure that root cause can be implemented, and robust corrective actions are completed
Lead accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes and ensuring robust corrective actions are implemented.
Coordinate internal and external EHS reporting and regulatory submissions.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety performance and operational excellence.
Promote a positive, collaborative and proactive safety culture across the business.

About You

We are looking for an experienced EHS professional who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Essential Requirements

Third-level qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety or a related discipline.
Strong knowledge of Irish EHS legislation and regulatory compliance.
Experience in ISO auditing an advantage
Proven experience leading incident investigations and implementing effective corrective actions.
Excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills.
Strong organisational and project management abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and EHS management systems.
