Approved Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000

About the Role:

This role is based in our Dublin office and operates under a hybrid working model. Engineers are expected to attend the office regularly to support collaboration, learning, and day-to-day delivery. During the initial probation period, there is an expectation of increased in-office presence to support onboarding, knowledge sharing, and team integration.

Key Responsibilities:

Architect and Develop: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and services.
Code Quality: Ensure code quality through robust testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices.
Database Management: Design and manage databases, ensuring data integrity and efficient data access.
API Development: Create and maintain APIs for internal and external use.
Collaboration: Work closely with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver cohesive, high-quality solutions.
Security: Implement and maintain security best practices to protect data and applications.
Documentation: Produce clear and concise documentation for developed features and systems.
Incident Management: Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and impact on users.
Performance Optimization: Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
Agile Participation: Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process.
Ownership & Independent Delivery: Take ownership of assigned features, delivering work independently from design through implementation and release, while seeking feedback and escalating risks early to ensure quality and alignment.

4+ years of experience in backend development.
Strong proficiency in backend technologies, Python preferred.
Extensive experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
Proven experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs and GraphQL.
Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines
Experience with cloud platforms and Serverless architectures, AWS preferred
Hands-on experience implementing event-driven services using an event streaming platform (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis), including producers and consumers.
Ability to integrate event streams into backend systems for near real-time processing and service decoupling.
Understanding of security principles and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Desirable:
- Django framework experience
- End to end full stack development experience
